1 Cent    (sold for $85.0)

1831 N-12 R1 F15 but made into a Gear. Glossy chocolate brown. Smooth surfaces with only a few small marks, including a shallow punch just right of the center cot on the reverse. Nothing special except that it was made into a gear, and the machine work is excellent. The work appears to have been done for a specific purpose, not merely whimsy, and accomplished long ago. Beyond that, it's your guess. Estimated Value $30-UP. Ex John R. Frankenfield. Categories: Large Cents
