1 Dollar    (sold for $5000.0)

1893. NGC graded MS-65. A well struck beauty and a gem that is bascially untoned. Easy to see this is a rare coin in this lofty grade. Beautiful silver surfaces accompany bold striking at the center of the obverse and reverse. Very few marks in the field, and those on the eagle mostly concealed. One of just 378,000 pieces struck, which is a modest mintage within the often prolific context of the Philadelphia Mint. Philadelphia's operations during the Morgan dollar era often produced large mintage totals. This specimen sits high on the NGC grading pyramid. Pop 79; 3 finer in 66 (PCGS # 7220) . Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,500. Categories: Morgan Dollars
