The engraver’s initials ‘HH’ appear to the right of the image and the mintmark ‘A’, ‘D’, ‘F’, ‘G’ or ‘J’, depending on the mint, to the left. The year of mintage, 2006, the 12 stars of the European Union and the words ‘Bundesrepublik Deutschland’ are shown in the outer ring. Lettering: SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN J HH BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND 2006 Engraver: Heinz Hoyer Reverse A map, next to the facial value, shows the European continent without borders. Lettering: 2 EURO LL Engraver: Luc Luycx Luc Luycx is the designer of the common side of the euro coins. Luycx is a computer engineer, and medallist living in Dendermonde, Belgium, and has worked for the Royal Belgian Mint for 15 years. He designed the euro coins in 1996.
