G WORLD COINS, CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA, COSTA RICA Republic, Gold 2-Escudos, 1855 JB, arms, rev Indian woman leaning against column, 6.29g (F 8; KM 99). Small edge nick at 5 o’clock on the obverse, reverse showing a couple of light field marks, about extremely fine. £250-300

1855,COSTA RICA. 2 Escudos, 1855-GW. NGC AU-55.Fr-8; KM-99. A fine example of this type with lettering on column and reverse arms well struck up. Slightly soft central features, as usual for this issue. The second finest certified of this date and assayer with finest being one level higher.
