Maximinus I, AD 235-238. AR Denarius minted at Rome, c. March AD 235 - c. January AD 236. Laureate, cuirassed and draped bust right of Maximinus I. Reverse: Pax standing left, holding branch and transverse scepter. RIC 12; C. 31. NGC graded Ch MS: Strike 5/5; Surface 4/5, reverse marks. No antoniniani were issued during the reigns of Severus Alexander, Maximinus I, Maximus, and the two first Gordians. Perhaps one day some will be unearthed. Estimated Value $100 - 150. Categories:
