(sold for $1650.0)

1911-D. NGC graded AU-55. With a mintage of just 72,500 coins, the 1911-D Indian half eagle has the second lowest mintage of the series following only the famous 1909-O (34,200 pieces). However, because of the key date 1911-D quarter eagle, the '11-D half eagle frequently fails to receive the recognition a coin of this scarcity usually commands. This example features a rich honey-golden appearance with a slight European look. Sharp details remain and there are just a few scattered minor surface abrasions (PCGS # 8521) . Estimated Value $1,700 - 1,800. Categories: $5 Indian
