1750,
CHINA. 10 Tael Gold Ingot, ND (ca. 1750's).

365.25 gms. Typical shape with raised ends and a ripple pattern on face. Three stamps across face identical to those found on ingots from the wreck of the VOC East-Indian Geldermalsen. There are two additional stamps on the base of the ingot as well as a western character serial number which seems to have been applied, if not at the time of casting, than soon after. At two points on the base and one point on the face are modern test drill marks. A few scattered flecks of encrustation.

Pedigree: Ex: St. James' auction, Nov. 2011 where it realized $22,106.
