1812 S-291 R2 Turban Head, Small Date NGC graded XF Details with scratches. Lightly cleaned and retoned frosty dark steel brown and chocolate with slightly lighter steel brown toning in some of the protected areas where you find attractive cartwheel luster. This piece looks quite nice to the unaided eye, but a glass reveals microscopic scratches on the highpoints of the portrait plus some dull ones around ONE on the reverse. No hint of corrosion or verdigris. MDS. Struck slightly off center to K-6. Our grade is net VF20. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Estimated Value $400-UP. Categories: Draped Bust Cents
