1794 C-6a R5+ Small Edge Letters F12. Sharpness VF30 but covered with fine granularity mixed with a few very shallow pits at the rim before the portrait and a larger patch of corrosion above the L in HALF. Medium brown and light chocolate, possibly cleaned and retoned long ago. The reverse is rotated 25 degrees CW and the edge lettering is blundered with the F in FOR positioned directly over the D in HUNDRED for it reads TWO HUNDREDOR A DOLLAR. The date is strong and the legends are complete. Far from perfect but relatively nice for this variety, and it is one of the sharpest known. Weight 100.4 grains. Estimated Value $4,000-UP.
