KM-17; Nesmith-unlisted; Cal-type-49#70. EXTREMELY RARE. Rhomboid panel type. Highly important first 4 Reales issue of Assayer P. Assayer’s letter placement on obverse between the pillars of Heracles, produced with re-cut dies of assayer “R”. Something of a missing link that is key in assessing the correct assayer sequence in the early series. Incorrect attribution on slab holder, certified as assayer R.A pleasing and attractive coin for this type. Minor doubling on the obverse.
