1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling Noe-19 Rarity-5 F15. Small Planchet Type. Sharpness VF30 or better but there is an obvious bend in the planchet at the left base of the tree that weakens the designs in that area. The opposing area at "AN" is weakened as well and that area is covered with several dull, shallow scratches. Otherwise the surfaces are smooth and the devices are bold, much sharper than usually seen on this tough variety. Later die state with a strong die crack from the right foot of the A in MAS slanting to the rim over the adjacent S. Listed on page 39 in the "Redbook." Weight 69.8 grains. Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
