1859. PCGS graded MS-65. Satin surfaces that are well frosted with pleasant, glowing copper-nickel color. So much, then, for the luster, though collectors who have the opportunity to view this original Gem 65 before the sale will enjoy spending several minutes studying the beautiful surfaces. As for the devices, these were struck with sufficient power by the dies that they left all design elements showing convincing detail, and showing clearly, unlike many 1859 Indian Cents where a few areas are left mushy. Pop 137; 24 finer, 2 in 65+, 21 in 66, 1 in 66+ (PCGS # 2052) . Estimated Value $2,700 - 2,800. Categories: Flying Eagle Cents and Indian Head Cents
