1794 C-8 R5 G4. The obverse is slightly better but the reverse is weaker, mostly as a result of that die being badly misaligned to K-5 causing an uneven strike. No corrosion or verdigris. A short, dull scratch in the field before the nose catches your eye, and there are a few less-obvious rim nicks on both sides. Rather glossy dark chocolate brown and olive. The date is clear. LDS, Manley state 2.0. The die crack down through the second T in STATES is strong and the reverse is rotated 30 degrees CCW. Weight 100.8 grains. Estimated Value $400-UP. Ex McLaughlin & Robinson Auctions #4355, 12/7/1987:20. Categories: Half Cents
