1796 S-105 R5- Draped Bust G5. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown with slightly lighter brown toning on the devices. There is minor roughness in the fields on both sides and a few minor contact marks, but overall this is a nice example for the grade. The notable marks are an "X" very lightly scratched across the obverse centered just left of the ear and a small but sharp rim nick opposite the eye. The bottom edge of the date is starting to fade into the rim but the rest is clear and the legends are easily readable. E-MDS, Breen state II, with die clashmarks on both sides. Estimated Value $300-UP. Ex Stack's 5/2/1968:203-Robert E. Matthews, Superior 5/28/1989:245 (both lot tickets included). Categories: Draped Bust Cents
