1834 N-2 R1 Small Date, Large Stars NGC graded AU details, Improperly Cleaned. Bold Double Profile. Frosty light steel brown and tan. Satiny mint luster covers the protected areas. Lightly cleaned and retoned but the eye appeal is nice. No spots or stains, only light friction on the highpoints. The notable defect is a patch of microscopic roughness over the N in ONE, and this area has been smoothed. E-MDS with strong vertical "spikes" up from the dentil tips under the date to star 1 and a fine die crack from the left foot of the first A in AMERICA to the leaf below. This fine crack is in addition to the always-present cracks on both sides. The dominant feature on this cent is a very bold double profile from the forelock down to the chin caused by die bounce. In fact there is a third very fine profile visible in parts of the double profile. A neat cent. Our grade is AU50 sharpness net EF40. Estimated Value $200-UP. Categories: Liberty Cents
