1843 N-11 R2 Petite Head, Small Letters. PCGS graded MS-63 Brown. Repunched 84. Lustrous medium brown and steel with traces of faded mint red showing on both sides. Nicely struck and quite attractive. No spots, stains, or notable contact marks, but there is a hint of friction on the highest points of the devices. A small nearly vertical nick hidden on the end of the wreath stem is the best identifying mark. EDS, die state a. Both dies are uncracked and the die lines over TAT in STATES are sharp. The narrow repunching on the 84 is clear. Our grade is AU58+. (PCGS # 1844) . Estimated Value $750-UP. Ex McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 10/2000:1431-Chris McCawley-Doug Durasoff.
