1907. PCGS graded Proof 68. CAC Approved. A richly toned specimen with a mixed palette of deep red-orange, sea-blue, and gold on the obverse; the reverse exhibits various shades of purple, navy-blue, lilac, old-gold, and red. The underlying surfaces are deeply mirrored and essentially perfect with no marks or hairlines. For pedigree purposes, a couple of dark spots are mentioned at the upper portions of Liberty's head, however, these hardly detract from the glowing colorations. A treat to the eye, especially to those who appreciate vividly toned proofs of the series. One of only 575 proofs produced, the sixth lowest proof production in the Barber quarter series. Tied for finest graded with just one other by PCGS. Housed in an Old Green Holder. Pop 2; none finer at PCGS. Nice rainbow toning (PCGS # 5693) . Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.
