1836 N-6 R6+ (as a die state) Gobrecht Head VG7. Sharpness F15 or slightly better but dark and covered with very light corrosion mixed with a few specks of verdigris on the reverse. Slightly glossy very dark steel and olive brown. A tiny scratch over the R in AMERICA a good identifying mark. Perhaps a dozen known in the early die state without the usually seen strong cud break above star 8. Estimated Value $300-UP.
