1816 N-2 R1. NGC graded MS-64 Brown. Attractive lustrous light steel brown with subtle overtones of light bluish steel and at least 10% of the mint red remaining. No stains or carbon spots. The only marks are a dull nick on the forelock and a faint hairline scratch in the field before the nose. M-LDS with rim cud breaks from star 8 to star 11 and a smaller one between stars 11 & 12. Most likely from the famous Randall Hoard of mint state cents that was discovered soon after the end of the US Civil War. Our grade is MS62+. The attribution is shown on the NGC label. Estimated Value $1,500-UP. Categories: Liberty Cents
