Although large quantities of silver coinage were produced in Sinkiang, gold issues were struck in limited quantity and should be considered RARE. This issue was struck in 1906 by military governor Wang Shu Tan for a brief period of only about four months. Approximately 5,000 gold Taels were minted into the denomination of 1 Mace and 2 Mace coins for purposes of military and local payments.
