1851 N-31 R3+ MS65. Lustrous mint red mellowing to light bluish steel brown, about two-thirds of the red remaining. The surfaces are satiny and offer outstanding eye appeal. The only marks are a tiny, light nick just right of star 13 and two very tiny rim ticks off the stem tip. Nicely struck E-MDS, die state b. The spur from star 2 is gone and a sharp die lapping line has been added from the berry over N in ONE down to the right top of the N in CENT. A very attractive cent, CC#2 behind a slightly finer example in the Grellman census. DWH #3255. Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
