Изображения Сидящей Свободы появлялись на большинстве серебряных монет США регулярного выпуска в середине и конце девятнадцатого века, с 1836 по 1891 год. доллар, а до 1873 года — серебряный доллар. Еще одна монета, которая появилась исключительно в дизайне Сидящей Свободы, была двадцатицентовой монетой. Эта монета выпускалась с 1875 по 1878 год и была снята с производства, поскольку внешне очень напоминала четвертак. Монеты «Сидящая свобода» чеканились на главном монетном дворе США в Филадельфии, а также на филиалах монетных дворов в Новом Орлеане, СанФранциско и Карсон-Сити.
