1848 N-30 R5+ VF30+. Close to VF35 but there are a few too many light contact marks on the obverse, including a very thin cut on the rim under the 4 and a diagonal nick under the left side of star 7. Very attractive glossy light brown and tan. Extremely rare EDS, die state a (old N-43 in the Reiver attribution guide). There are clear die lines from the dentils to stars 10-12 and fine lapping lines to the tops of AME. CC#7 overall but second finest of the rare early die state. DWH #2104. Estimated Value $400-UP.
