Ottagonale in oro da 50 dollari, 1915S, San Francisco, testa di Minerva a sinistra, gufo rovesciato su ramo di pino della California, E PLURIBUS UNUM a destra (F 189; KM 139)Solo 483 coniati. Nel 1915 visitatori da tutto il mondo confluirono in una vera e propria nuova città costruita con assi e intonaco sulla costa di San Francisco. Basandosi sulla tradizione stabilita dall'Esposizione del Centenario del 1876 (Filadelfia), dall'Esposizione Mondiale Colombiana del 1892-1893 (Chicago), dall'Esposizione di Parigi del 1900, dalla Fiera Mondiale di St. Louis del 1904 e da altri eventi simili, l'Esposizione Internazionale Panama-Pacifico ha messo in mostra meraviglie di tecnologia, arte, storia e scienza. Al termine dell'evento, quasi tutto è stato demolito. Un'eccezione fu il Palazzo delle Belle Arti, che, sebbene non fosse mai stato concepito per essere una struttura permanente, sopravvisse per essere utilizzato come deposito di autopompe e altre attrezzature comunali. In tempi recenti è stato restaurato.
