Female head (Tanit / Dido?) facing to left, wearing an oriental tiara with a neck flap, long locks of curling hair flow out the side and behind. Rev. Punic inscription ( S’MMHNT ) in the exergue, a lion walking to left, its head facing, a palm-tree in the background (Jenkins, ‘Coins of Punic Sicily’, Part 3, SNR 56, 1977, 270 (O83/R224); Gulbenkian 376 (these dies); SNG Lloyd 1628 (these dies); Rizzo pl.
