1 Dollar    (sold for $8250.0)

1885. NGC graded Proof 67. A gorgeous iridescent toned Proof featuring vivid shades of turquoise and violet giving the coin a "bull's eye" effect. Only 930 Proofs struck. Exquisite is the word to describe this remarkable Silver Dollar. Although this older NGC holder does not designate any cameo status, there is no doubt that this Proof Morgan has visible contrast. But the two tone effect that is seen on bright examples is forced into the shadows by the intense and intensely beautiful toning. The fields are reflective and deep. The cheek pristine with no signs of hairlines or luster graze. The strike is razor sharp as one expects, and on both sides. A coin fit for the finest Proof Morgan Set currently being assembled. Pop 5; 4 finer in 68 (PCGS # 7320) . Estimated Value $8,500 - 9,000. Categories: Morgan Dollars
