1 Cent    (sold for $7250.0)

1794 S-43 R2 NGC graded AU53. Double Profile. Frosty steel brown and tan. The surfaces are smooth and void of any trace of corrosion, but they are not as glossy as you would expect for the grade. Might need a proper brushing to bring out the full beauty of this piece. There are some tiny nicks on the neck and a couple more under the E in CENT, but none of these marks is distracting. Sharply struck EDS, Breen state I, before any die cracks. A sharp, clear double profile shows from the nose tip down to the chin with similar doubling on the hair, dentils, and cap. The reverse is rotated 30 degrees CW. Our grade is VF35, perhaps slightly better following a successful brushing to bring out the natural gloss. Estimated Value $4,000-UP.
