1 Cent    (sold for $140.0)

1796 S-85 R5- Liberty Cap AG3. A few points sharper but the planchet is very slightly rough and there are numerous light rim bruises on both sides. A fine scratch from the rim left of OF to above the E in ONE where it fades away is a good identifying mark. Slightly glossy dark steel brown and chocolate. The date is not strong but remains easily readable as does most of the legend. Estimated Value $125-UP. Ex Henry T. Hettger 2/21/2001-Lawrie Rhoads collection. Categories: Liberty Cap Cents
