1 Cent    (sold for $140.0)

1798 S-172 R2 Small 8, Style II Hair VG8+. Clipped Planchet. Close to VG10 but there are too many tiny nicks scattered over the obverse for the higher grade. None of the nicks is distracting and the eye appeal of this cent is nice for the grade. No roughness or verdigris. Glossy medium chocolate brown. Rare TDS, Breen state VI, with a cud break connecting ICA to the rim above. A curved planchet clip affects the dentils over ER in LIBERTY and the opposing ones under the fraction. Estimated Value $80-UP. Categories: Draped Bust Cents
