† COINS, ASIAN TERRITORIES, CEYLON George III (1760-1820), Silver 48-Stivers (Rix Dollar), 1803, elephant facing left (KM 77; Pr 5). Very fine. It would be interesting to speculate on why the elephant to the left was the preferred position. £150-200

CEYLON, local coinage, 1801-16, silver forty eight stivers, 1809, interesting countermark in obverse field (KM.77). Very fine and scarce.
