† COINS, ASIAN TERRITORIES, DECIMAL CURRENCY, PROOFS, CEYLON George VI (1936-1952), Copper ½-Cent, struck on small flan, obv type 1, as seen on the 1937 coinage of Ceylon, without legend, rev “½ Cent Ceylon” in Tamil, palm tree in the centre. Not struck as a proof, about very fine. The collector bought this as a pattern, but it is more likely a mint sport or simply the currency coin cut down. £15-20
