Exceptional Wu Hsu Kiangnan Dollar with Circlet-Like Scales on Dragon
L&M-216; K-71c; KM-145a.1; WS-0795. Circlet-like scales on dragon. Superbly struck with full sharp detail. An absolute gem with positively gorgeous multi-hued toning, transitioning from red-orange tones near the rim to greens and blues throughout the legends, and soft pale lilac near the center. Full cartwheel luster throughout. A more appealing example could not be asked for. Used as a plate example in "Top Chinese Coins" by Chou, Guth and Smith. The second finest certified, with only one piece being graded one point higher.
