1787 Connecticut Miller 33.7-r.4 Rarity-5+ F12. Draped Bust Left. Sharpness VF20 but covered with fine roughness under a rather glossy dark olive brown and steel patina. The only marks are a shallow planchet lamination at UC in AUCTORI (as struck) and a few very faint hairline scratches at the top of the head. The date is weak and the bottom of the digits are off the planchet, but it is easily readable. The legends are complete. Not perfect but very nice for this variety. It is at least comparable to the better of the two Perkins examples and the variety was missing from the Ford collection. This is the Norweb coin, and it was plated in that 1988 catalog.
