1809 C-4 R2 Large 0 over Small 0. ANACS graded VF-35. Glossy olive brown and steel with slightly lighter toning on the highpoints. Excellent eye appeal, but there are a few minor marks. The notable ones are a shallow planchet flake at the dentils above the back of the head (as struck) and some tiny nicks on the reverse at the E & C in AMERICA. Nicely struck EDS, Manley state 1.0. The small 0 inside the normal 0 in the date is sharp (the die-cutter began with the wrong punch, then recovered). Our grade is VF30+ sharpness net VF25+, close to VF30. The attribution is shown on the ANACS label. Estimated Value $300-UP. From the Dennis Fuoss Collection. Categories: Classic Head Half Cents
