1812 S-289 R1 Turban Head, Large Date VF35. Glossy olive brown and steel. Frosty flowline luster covers the fields and protected areas on both sides. The only marks are a tiny, very shallow pit in the field above the head and a pair of faint hairline scratches on the bust tip. LDS, Breen state IV. Flowlines draw the outer points of the stars to the rim and the tops of STATES OF are joined to the rim as well. An attractive example. Removed from a PCGS slab graded XF40 (PCGS label #1561.40/21492323 included, and it incorrectly states this is a "Small Date" variety). Estimated Value $1,500-UP. Ex Rod Burress 8/8/2004.
