1797 C-2 R3 VG10. Sharpness near VF30 but the rim has been filed all the way around, apparently to remove or minimize several rim nicks. In addition there is a small dent on the nose and a larger one in the field to the right near the dentils causing a barely perceptible bend in the planchet. A speck of verdigris shows over the M in AMERICA but the remainder of the planchet is free of any hint of corrosion or verdigris. Glossy chocolate brown and steel. The date and legends are bold. Too bad about the marks, but the bold details are a big plus. Estimated Value $300-UP. Categories: Half Cents
