Great Britain. 'Dump' Halfpenny, 1717. S.3659; KM-549. George I, 1714-1727. Obverse: Laureate bust of King right. Reverse: Britannia seated left. Date in exergue. This is a spectacular example of a practically blemish free copper coin. With the characteristic sharpness of a Proof, this is remarkable because it is a currency piece. Finer than the Nicholson Collection specimen, and superior to the George I Halfpennies in any recently offered specialist collections. NGC graded MS-66 Brown. Estimated Value $1,700 - 1,900.
