Reverse: Celticized horse right; above, bucranium and sea anemone. Van Arsdell 1860-1 [as Extremely Rare]; cf. Lockett 33. Choice Very Fine. Probably the most powerful tribe in southern Britain, the Trinovantes were one of the earliest to mint gold staters (debased, as all are), around 75 BC. Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000.
