BRITISH COINS Edward I (1272-1307), Groat, London, facing crowned bust filling centre of tressure, crown with spread side fleurs that intrude tressure, central fleur to crown with pellet top ornaments either side, surrounding quatrefoil in three lines, drapery two wedges with three pellets below, triple pellet stops in legend, curule type X, initial mark cross pattée, rev long cross fourchée, upon twin concentric legends, trefoil of pellets in each inner angle, curule X in legend, 5.30g (Brady -; Fox 6; North SCBI 39 no.6 same dies; N 1006; S 1379B). Dent in rim, toned with some scuffing on reverse, a couple of light hairline scratches on obverse, otherwise good fine, reverse better, very rare. £3000-4000
