Sear 1379; Caecilia 47; Cr. 459/1; Syd. 1046. Banker's marks below eye and before face of Jupiter, and in reverse exergue. Toned. Nearly Extremely Fine. Following Caesar's victory at Pharsalus, Metellus Scipio fled to Africa, where he formed an alliance with King Juba of Numidia. His coin types reflect his African campaign, which ended with his defeat at Thapsus. He later committed suicide. Estimated Value $300 - 400. The Pat Coyle Collection.
