Type I Manila overstrike, with serrated boarders and reverse legend; dies prepared by Don Benito de los Reyes. Overstruck on an 1828-CUZCOG Peru 8 Reales. RARE host coin. "MANILA" and date fully struck up with dot between, remnants of serrated boarder between 11 o'clock and 3 o'clock; Reverse: Crowned arms of Spain nearly fully struck up with faint portions of the legend from 8 o'clock to about 10 o'clock and small portion of the serrated boarder from about 9 o'clock to about 12 o'clock. Overstrike uneven and of typical weak strike leaving much of the under type still visible. Clear host date, assayers letter, denomination, mintmark and nearly full legends on both obverse and reverse with other portions of the host design aspects. Unusually nice quality with sharp details on obverse and reverse. Beautiful organic toning with the slightest bit of iridescence.
