1718,
SWEDEN. 3 Daler Plate Money, 1718. Karl XII (1697-1718).

7.5 x 8.5 in. KM-PM95; AAH-203d; BT-A. VERY RARE (Tingstrom: 6 plates known as well as this piece from the Nicobar). A revaluation stamp of 3 Dalers 1718 applied at Stockholm to a 1712 2 Daler of Avesta, with crossed arrows below mintmark. The new denomination stamp was to increase the intrinsic value by 50% on plates produced between 1710 and May 1715. Revalued plates are EXTREMELY RARE, seldom offered and highly sought after by collectors. The center stamp is about three-quarters complete with discernible features. One of the corner stamp remains with a complete and legible date, and the revaluation stamp is faint but discernible. With certificate of authenticity. Heavily corroded leaving slightly more than half of the original plate, nevertheless a RARE and seldom offered type. Nice even brown patina.

Pedigree: From the Stanley Aberdeen Collection.
