VERY RARE Tiananmen Square 1979 Pattern
27 mm. cf.KM-4; cf.Cheng-pg. 2#1. Brass. EXTREMELY RARE. Purportedly the pattern for the gold 400 Yuan commemorative piece, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic. The obverse design is nearly identical to the gold 400 Yuan piece, with the difference being the exclusion of the denomination, and in its place, two characters stating "commemorative" instead. The obverse design features the famous Tiananmen Square. The only example to be certified. An interesting and EXCEPTIONALLY RARE pattern, which would exalt any collection. Note: NGC has designated this as a medal rather than a pattern.
