1817 N-8 R2 EF45+. Mouse Top. Glossy dark chocolate and olive brown with traces of reddish steel brown faded down from mint color in protected areas on the reverse. The only marks are a few tiny ticks on the tip of the bust and a very small planchet lamination void on the rim just right of the second S in STATES. The toning is a bit dark but the details and luster are consistent with an AU50 example. LDS with a full "Mouse" break reaching up to the left from the top of the head under star 8. This is the so-called "Finger Mouse" since it is shaped more like a finger than a rodent, but the rodent name sticks since it is located in the same place as the other "Mouse" breaks seen on 1817 cents.
