1820 N-13 R1 Large Date. PCGS graded MS-64+ Red & Brown. CAC Approved. Lustrous bright mint red fading to light steel brown on the highpoints, at least 75% of the original color showing on both sides. You have to wonder why it wasn't awarded a "RED" designation. This cent offers gem eye appeal. The only defects are a few tiny spots of darker toning, including one on the top of the hair bun, and a light scrape on the M in AMERICA. Nicely struck MDS, the usual Randall Hoard die state. A variety that is common in mint state but quite rare with this much original mint color. Graded MS67 by Del Bland. Our grade is MS65. The attribution and Ralls provenance are shown on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer, 2 in 65, 1 in 66. (PCGS # 36674) . Estimated Value $1,000-UP. Ex Littleton Rare Coins (from an unnamed Bowers & Merena sale)-Dr. Philip W. Ralls. Categories: Liberty Cents
