BASILEYS MEGAS AGPIPPAS FILOKAISAP Within distyle temple, Agrippa, wearing military attire, standing r., clasping hand with Claudius, veiled and togate, standing l.; in the background, two more figures, on standing, one kneeling; in pediment, date LZ (= year 7 of the reign). RPC I, 684, 4983. Hendin 1245. A. Burnett, The Coinage of King Agrippa I of Judaea and a new coin of Chalcis, Mélanges Bastien 35, 10. Very rare and of great historical interest. Blackish-green patina. Nearly very fine According to Burnett (op. cit. 36), the rev. could represent the consecration, in the temple of Jupiter Capitolinus in Rome, of the treaty between Agrippa and Claudius.
