BASILISCUS (475-476). Ae. Obv: Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev: Monogram within wreath. RIC - ; LRB -. The reverse of the coin shows the usual monogram of Basiliscus as known from nummi of the sole-reign of this emperor (RIC 1014-1016) with the addition of an S. There is a possibility that this is just a variation of the usual monogram - It could also hint to a transitional issue that could be attributed to the joint-reign with Marcus. this "transitional monogram" resembles monograms atributed to the joint-reign of both emperors (RIC 1034) Condition: Good very fine. Weight: 0.8 g. Diameter: 11 mm.
