BRITISH COINS, Edward IV (first reign, 1461-1470), Gold Quarter-Ryal, quartered shield of arms, lis below, rose to left, sun to right, all within quatrefoil, within beaded circle, legend surrounding, lis stops and mintmark crown (1466-1469) both sides, rev struck with upright die axis, rose on sunburst at centre, over cross with lis terminals, lions in angles, within tressure of eight arcs, plain spandrels, beaded circle and legend surrounding, 1.86g (cf Schneider 398-401; N 1560; S 1965).
