Jewish Coinage. Roman Judaea Capta Series. Vespasian, 69-79 CE. AE Sestertius minted at Rome, 71 CE. Laureate head right of Vespasian. Reverse: Palm tree; to left, captive standing right; to right, personification of Judaea seated right on cuirass; both figures surrounded by arms. RIC 159; H-1500. Lightly smoothed and a few scratches. Even brown patination. Choice Very Fine. A handsome coin of orichalcum, akin to brass. Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000. Categories: Judean Coinage
