1 Cent    (sold for $440.0)

1796 S-85 R5- Liberty Cap VG7. Sharpness F12 but slightly rough in the fields and protected areas. No verdigris but there is a vertical scratch touching the back of the head and another one on the bust extending into the field before the neck. Glossy chocolate brown, lighter on the devices and darker in the protected areas. EDS, Breen state I, before die lapping weakened the devices on the reverse. The date and legends are complete and easily readable except for weakness at ES-OF-AM due to an uneven strike on the reverse. Estimated Value $500-UP.
